Penultimate Day Extreme Series

The Extreme Sailing Series has been in the minds of most sailing fans as they have been following the event since it started on 28th April at Qingdao in China.


The third day of the series saw some exciting performances from the teams on the waters around the Fushan Bay. The British team from the Land Rover BAR Academy was the ones that showed a change in their performance and stole the limelight. They were in the last position after the first day of opening races, but they moved to the second place by showcasing consistent performance on the penultimate day of the series. The skipper of the team, Rob Bunce commanded a talented team of sailors under 24 years of age who enjoyed the outing and competing in the races.

This British team is the youth wing of the Sir Ben Ainslie’s America’s Cup version. They went into action to take their disappointing results several notches up on the leader board. They performed with style and excelled even though the weather conditions proved to be shifty. Continue reading
